Construction of Bogotá Metro's Line 1 began in 2020. By the end of 2025, the project is expected to reach 70% completion. The entire project is being supervised by the PLMB consortium, led by Ayesa and comprised of Colombia’s MAB as well as Italian firms Italfer and Metro de Milan. Among its responsibilities, Ayesa ensures that the company CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., based in Changchun, China, complies with all manufacturing, quality, safety, and scheduling requirements for the 30 trains that will make up the Line 1 fleet.
