Spain requests CEF funds for investments worth over 1,140 million euros



Spain has submitted to the European Commission the funding request proposal to the call corresponding to the 2015 “Connecting Europe Facility” (CEF) mechanism.

The number of projects that have arisen from Spain, a total of 78, will involve an excess of 1,140 million euros investment for which a 36% aid is requested (about 415 million euros).

The budget available for this CEF call amounts to 1,090 million euros and will be used to subsidize ERTMS projects; innovation and new technologies; urban nodes; terminals and logistic platforms; infrastructure security; Single Sky-Sesar; motorways of the sea; ITS; and RIS. It is estimated that the aid will be definitively approved next July.

At the 2014 call, endowed with 8,300 million euros, a total of 827 million euros were allocated to Spain.
