CAF trams for the city of Amsterdam are low-floor, bi-directional vehicles that provide maximum levels of accessibility, comfort and ease of operation.

GVB Activa B.V. already awarded CAF a project for the supply of 37 two-car light rail vehicles in 1994. These units were delivered between 1996 and 1997 and have been providing service in the city’s network since then.

The new trams will run on Amsterdam’s metropolitan network, which is 213.3 km long. The network consists of 16 lines with 490 stations in total. The capital of the Netherlands has a population of 800,000.
