Aldesa’s Polish subsidiary, Aldesa Polska, has completed refurbishment of Gliwice station, a work that improves passenger comfort adapting the construction to the modern standards of service while preserving historic elements.

The refurbishment carried out by the Polish State Railways (PKP) required to keep the station in service while the work was being performed. Works started in 2015 and have involved the building that houses the railway station, the infrastructure of platforms and tracks, the coverings over the tracks and platforms, and the tunnel passageways.
Work to improve the accessibility, independence and comfort of disabled people has also been carried out, such as paths for blind people, lower ticket offices and adapted services for passengers with reduced mobility.
The total cost of the project has amounted to about 30 million euros and has been subsidized by European Union funds, as part of the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Program.
