Isolux is awarded the electrification of two sections on the main rail line in India



Isolux has been awarded two new electrification projects on India’s main railway line connecting the cities of Mumbai and Chennai, in the south of the country. The contracts awarded amount to 45 million euros and will both have an execution period of three years.

The projects involve the electrification of the 113 km section between the cities of Solapur and Gulbarga, in the state of Karnataka, and the 160 km section located in the state of Maharashtra, connecting the cities of Solapur and Bhigwan.

The contract includes the design, supply, assembly, testing and commissioning of 25 kV lines for electric railways with a 50 Hz single phase. This awarding adds to other three railway projects being carried out by Isolux in India.
