The International Railway Convention included an extensive programme of conferences about planning and financing of infrastructures and urban transport systems, tools for the optimisation and management of the railway and criteria for the design of high-speed lines.
There were also sections focused on new digital technologies for capacity control and ticketing, cybersecurity, stations design, new materials and technological innovations in energy efficiency.
The conferences were combined with presentations of transport plans by part of the most important foreign guests, like Metrolinx (Canada), Egyptian National Railways (ENR), High Speed 2 and Crossrail from the UK, Incofer from Costa Rica, the Panama Metro or the Secretariat of Transport Planning in Argentina.
Also scheduled were 775 individual meetings between the 48 foreign guests and the 125 representatives of the 49 Spanish companies and organisations participating in the event. The work programme was also completed with technical visits to Metrovalencia and Adif’s commuter trains control centre and, after three days of conferences in Valencia, there were also 22 visits to the facilities of railway companies in several Spanish cities.
