Move, formed by Odebrecht, Queiroz Galvão and UTC, stopped the works ten months ago and, if it does not proceed with them before the end of July, the public private partnership contract awarded to the consortium by the state of São Paulo, which with the line is being built, will be rescinded.
The solution, which involves Cintra and Ferrovial, is that current partners sell part of their stake in the consortium to companies that do not suffer credit restrictions, as is the case with Odebrecht, Queiroz Galvão and UTC with the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) in Brazil.
The entrance of a new partner would prevent the rescission of the contract, which would make a new tender necessary and prevent from maintaining the delivery date of the work for 2021. The line will be 15 kilometres in length and will have several stations between the neighbourhoods of São Joaquim and Brasilândia.
