The agreement lays the foundations for Adif’s contribution to the planning and development of the railway infrastructure in the Delhi region. Adif will mostly advise National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on technical requirements for increasing speeds, frequencies and capacity of trains as well as on the improvement of the network’s reliability and intermodality, safety and information systems.

To achieve this, Adif will work on areas such as planning and urban development, infrastructure planning, functional designs, feasibility studies, the upgrading of technologies related to the infrastructure including track, tunnels, viaducts, electrification and gauge changers, among others, and the modernisation of traffic management.
