The contract includes the delivery of Siemens’ CBTC system for fully automated operation in two new stations and one depot, as well as the platform screen doors for those two new stations. The 2.2 kilometres Downtown Line 3 extension, due for completion in 2024, will be connected with the Thomson-East Coast Line.

Singapore’s Downtown Line, the world’s longest underground metro line fully automated, is 42 kilometres in length and comprises 34 stations. It carries more than half a million passengers every day, connecting the east and west of the island with the Central Business District and Marina Bay.
