Comsa begins construction of Odense tram in Denmark

(23/05/2018)
Comsa will manage the construction of more than 14 kilometres of double track tramway between the Tarup Centre and Hjallese districts, in addition to the 26 stations that make up the line, by means of a contract valued at 158 million euros.
The contract also includes the installation of the catenary, signalling work, telecommunications, a control and maintenance centre, as well as testing prior to the entry into service. Comsa will work in collaboration with Portuguese company Efacec on the electrification and with Danish company Munch on the construction.

Sustainability

The line is to be equipped with systems to reduce noise and vibrations, and the maintenance centre will be energy self-sufficient thanks to over 500 square metres of skylight solar panels that will allow the entrance of natural light and an efficient thermal insulation.

For each tree removed for the construction of the tram another two will be planted, which will be watered via a system that collects the water accumulated in the roofs of the stop shelters.
