The transaction will be funded mainly with additional CAF debt and its final implementation is subject to the approval of the Polish and German Competition Authorities, expected by September 2018.

Solaris, which is mainly focused on urban transport, had a turnover of €444 million in 2017. Its integration into CAF Group will allow the Spanish manufacturer to broaden its range of products in the urban field beyond the railway, particularly in electric mobility and multimodal door-to-door transport services.

In the bus segment, the operation complements the work undertaken by Vectia, CAF Group’s subsidiary, which focuses on hybrid and electric bus systems.
