(13/09/2018)

French Railways’ logistics and freight transport division thus acquires the first private railway company in Spain which, in five years, has increased its turnover by approximately 70 per cent, reaching revenues of 32 million Euros and a workforce of close to 200 people. The number of trains in operation has gone from 8,400 in 2013 to 19,200 in 2017.

The company will operate under the name Captrain Spain and will continue handling cross-border rail traffic with its Portuguese partner Takargo. SNCF Logistics has committed itself to support the growth of the company in the Iberian market and the development of international traffic in the new infrastructures of the Mediterranean and Atlantic corridors.
