The contract also includes training, repair equipment and warranty services, and spare parts for 40 years. With this option, the number of Citadis trams that Alstom Spain will supply to the city of Frankfurt goes from 38 signed in June 2018 to a total of 43. The first two vehicles will be delivered in 2020, and from 2021 the company will deliver twelve units per year.

The Citadis for Frankfurt is a 100% low floor vehicle with large glass surfaces, LED lighting, wide individual seats and large screens for passenger information. It will also include a driver assistance system, rain sensors, automatic dipped beam, pivoting bogies and a steel-made structure. Each three-car tram will be 31.5 metres long with a maximum capacity of 197 passengers.
