(19/11/2018)

The vehicles, which will run on Athens’ existing tramway network as well as on any planned extensions, will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Santa Perpetua de Mogoda (Barcelona). Deliveries are expected in the year 2020.

The contract includes the on-site testing, training and warranty services, as well as spare parts. Trams for the cities of Sydney (Australia), Frankfurt (Germany) and Lusail (Qatar) are currently being manufactured at the industrial centre in Santa Perpetua.

The Citadis X05 trams for Athens offer 20% more glass surfaces, LED lighting, large individual seats and passenger information systems on large screens. The five-car trams will have double doors on each car and will be 33 metres long, with a maximum capacity of 294 passengers per tram.
