The aim of the trade delegation, made up of eleven companies, is to increase cooperation and strengthen business relations in light of Colombia’s plans to boost the railway in the coming years.

The delegation met with representatives from Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (National Development Finance), Empresa Férrea Regional (Regional Railway Company) and the National Planning Department of the Ministry of Transport, as well as with the Transport Minister. The programme also included meetings with Ferrocarril de Antoquia (Antoquia Railway), Empresa de Transporte Masivo del Valle de Aburrá (Valle de Aburrá mass transit company) and the local construction company Conconcreto.

The Colombian Government and the companies of the sector plan to revive the current 3,300 km rail network and develop a powerful multimodal transport system.
