ICEX conference on railway and transport projects in Croatia

(13/02/2019)

Croatia’s Strategic Transport Plan and the main railway projects planned in the country for the next few years, whose tenders are imminent, were analysed at the conference. The railway will be in Croatia the main recipient of the European funds and analogous -BERD and BEI- in the next ten years, with investments estimated at 3,000 million euros.

The Croatian railway is facing the modernisation of its infrastructure according to technical specifications for interoperability, the increase of the speed up to a maximum of 160 km/h, the improvement of the level of safety and the elimination of bottlenecks in order to achieve greater functionality of the system. The Plan also aims to increase the capacity and enhance the performance of the lines by reducing travel times and improving connections of the ports with the railway.
