Ineco to participate in modernisation of Sydney’s commuter rail network in Australia

(27/02/2019)
Ineco will collaborate with Network Rail Consulting, Acmena and The Go-Ahead Group to define the strategy that will enable the network to increase its capacity in order to absorb future demand.

The project plans the upgrading of the signalling network to ETCS level 2; the implementation of an ATO (Automatic Train Operation) system to assist drivers; and the installation of a railway traffic management system to improve the efficiency in incidents and service throughout the network.

This program of modernisation of Sydney’s commuter rail network, operated by Sydney Trains, is part of the “More trains, More services” plan, which was implemented by the Transport for New South Wales authority last June. The project is Ineco’s first contract in Australia.
