Teltronic Brazil will develop the project to modernise voice and data transmission systems along the metro lines, replacing the current analogue system and increasing their performance with functionalities such as GPS positioning.

Based on the Nebula system, the deployment will be composed of one main controller node and one redundant, six base stations that will cover the whole line, eighty on-board radios for trains and the Ceco-Trans integrated command and control solution.

Trensurb, linked to the Ministry of Regional Development of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, operates a 43.8 km line in the north axis of the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, with 22 stations and a fleet of 40 trains. It also operates the Automated People Mover technology that connects Trensurb Airport Station to Terminal 1 of Salgado Filho International Airport.
