The first order of the contract is worth approximately 550 million euros and foresees deliveries of the first units by 2023. The trains are known as Talgo 230 and will include, in addition to the passenger cars, a locomotive on one end and a car with passenger seats which at the end has a driver’s cabin to allow push-pull services, on the other.

Talgo began its international expansion in 1992 with the contract of the first compositions for night services in Germany, linking Berlin with Bonn and Munich, and Talgo trains with variable gauge run on the Moscow-Berlin line since 2017.
