The contract, which has been awarded by Empresa de Transporte Masivo del Valle de Aburrá Limitada-Metro de Medellín, is valued at three million euros and is estimated to have an execution period of 38 months.

The project involves the monitoring and control of the implementation of the new technology to update the current signalling system, which was installed in the 1980’s and is about to complete its lifecycle after 22 years of service and having reached the number of operations it was designed for.

From 2022, this modernization will make it possible to improve frequencies and the quality of the transport service, as well as mobility in the region. The enhancements will also increase the capacity of the 22 vehicles recently acquired by the operator.
