This edition welcomes engineering companies, rolling stock manufacturers and construction firms in a geographic area where Spanish companies are a technological benchmark, having participated in the main projects of the last few years.

Among the main plans in the region is the Etihad Rail project, part of the GCC Railway and whose aim is to connect the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

There are also two master plans to enhance urban mobility: Abu Dhabi’s Surface Transport Master Plan and Dubai’s Traffic and Transportation Plan, both with projects planned until 2030. Among these are the extension of Dubai Metro and Abu Dhabi’s light rail system, to which the Dubai Hyperloop project should be added.

In Saudi Arabia, a study about the Aqaba Railway project is already underway. This project involves a connection with Jordan to encourage freight transport between the planned port at Ma’an and the Aqaba port. Also, Riyadh Metro will be fully operative in 2021.

In addition, in Qatar there is the Qatar Public Transport Programme (QPTP), including works such as the Doha Metro, currently under construction, and the Lusail Light Rail Transit, on the coast, north of Doha.
