Topics like accessibility, safety, reliability and quality of service, and energy efficiency were addressed at the meeting. The event brought together representatives of metro systems from 19 cities: Delhi, Beijing, Berlin, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, London, Moscow, New York, Paris, Santiago de Chile, Mexico, Seoul, Singapore, Shanghai, São Paulo, Taipei, San Francisco, Barcelona and Lisbon, with Tokyo metro as a special guest.
The speakers presented their experiences and knowledge regarding their projects under development. In addition, there were visits to the exhibition of classical trains at Chamartín station, the old Chamberí metro station, and the Technological Centre in the 4.0 station at Canillejas facility, in order to learn about the global technological transformation process currently underway in Metro de Madrid to design the station of the future.
Comet is a community of the most well-known metros in the world that has the support of the Railway and Transport Strategy Centre of the Imperial College London. The metros of this community work together to develop research and improvement projects and to update a comprehensive common database which includes a complete battery of key performance indicators.
