The Spanish delegation met with São Paulo Metro, CPTM and ANTP Trilhos in São Paulo, with ANTT Gerência de Projetos, Metrô-DF and the Secretary of State for Transport in Brasilia, and with Rio Metro, Vale do Rio Doce and Supervía in Rio de Janeiro. The delegation also attended the largest railway exhibition in the country, the NT Expo Sao Paulo.

Brazil aims to prioritize its rail and road networks in the next few years. The portfolio includes 70 main railway projects with a planned investment of 113,600 million reais (about 26,220 million euros).

Among the twelve most important railway initiatives are the North-South connection, the construction of the Fico and Ferrograo railways for transporting goods, and the “bi-oceanic railway”, which will link the Brazilian port of Santos to the port of Ilo in Peru with an investment of 12,000 million euros.
