(11/06/2019)

The contract, which has a total value of US$138.9 million, includes an option to be extended to up to 121 cars. Work will take place at Talgo’s facilities in Milwaukee, and the 50 cars of the base order are expected to be delivered in April 2023.

The scope of the work includes the dismantling, reengineering and remodelling of the old systems, with the replacement of dozens of subsystems with other state-of-the-art equipment, as well as the inclusion of new systems. Thus, the remodelled cars will have new eco-friendly HVAC systems, bogies, couplers and electric systems. They will also be equipped with power outlets in each seat and passenger communication systems, and they will be prepared to be fitted with Wi-Fi.
