The 9-month-long contract amounts to 2.5 million euros and was awarded to a consortium led by the Spanish consulting company and made up of Indian companies Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats, as well as the Korean firm Soosung Engineering.

The study for the design of a commuter rail transportation system for the country’s capital city will evaluate the different possible routes and will analyse the feasibility of the project from a technical, economic, financial, environmental and social point of view.

The company will also be responsible for preparing the preliminary design and necessary measurements during the construction phase, which include calculation of the estimated cost of the works and drafting of the contract tender documents. A social and environmental impact study along with a mitigation plan will also be included.
