The AVRIL platform is Talgo’s latest technological development, of which Renfe will have thirty trains that are currently under construction. AVRIL is the result of eight years of engineering work and a global investment exceeding 50 million euros.
The AVRIL name is the acronym for Alta Velocidad Rueda Independiente Ligero (Light Independent Wheel High Speed), which summarizes some of the vehicle’s characteristics. Its great capacity and light weight make it possible to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions and therefore increase efficiency.
