CAF Group’s subsidiary CAF Signalling has been awarded contracts in Slovenia and Bulgaria for some sections of the Trans-European Mediterranean Corridor.

CAF Signalling is awarded contracts in Slovenia and Bulgaria

(25/09/2019)

In Slovenia, the company will supply, in consortium with Iskra, the safety and signalling systems for the Zidani Most – Sentilj section, which extends for 117 km and includes seventeen stations.

The contract involves the refurbishment of the safety and signalling systems between the Zidani Most and Sentilj stations on the Slovenian border with Austria. Co-funded through the Connecting Europe Facility funding programme and the Regional Development Fund, the project includes the design, installation, testing and commissioning of the signalling equipment and systems, replacing the old Iskra relay interlocks with the CAF Signalling electronic interlocks.

Bulgaria

The Bulgarian railway infrastructure management company has recently awarded the consortium “ERTMS CA Voluyak DZZD,” made up of the local company AER and CAF Signalling, the contract to refurbish and modernise the signalling and telecommunications systems on the 12 km section connecting the capital city, Sofia, with the Voluyak town. This section includes Sofia Central, the main station and transport hub in the country, Obelya and Voluyak stations.

The project, co-funded through the Connecting Europe Facility funding programme, includes the design, installation, testing and commissioning of all the signalling and telecommunications systems (both ETCS L1 and GSM-R), as well as the implementation of new electronic interlocks.
