The integrated station between Park Street and Bathurst Street will include retail and other commercial facilities and involves the construction of a 250-metre-long underground street. In addition, two high-rise buildings will be built above the station. The buildings will be 39-storeys each and will comprise offices, commercial areas and residential areas to rent.

Work on the station will begin in 2020 and is expected to be concluded in 2023. By 2024, Sydney Metro will have commissioned 31 metro stations and more than 66 kilometres of new metro rail. CPB Contractors, together with its joint venture partners, delivered the tunnelling and civil works for the recently opened Sydney Metro Northwest, and it is currently constructing the 15.5 km twin tunnels for Sydney Metro City & Southwest.
