(15/11/2019)

The report, which is part of the “Clean Transport” line of work within the framework of CAF’s Urban Mobility strategy, will promote the use of sustainable, zero emissions transportation and support several cities in the region which have already begun this process.

The purpose of this report is to look for regulatory and financing alternatives in order to gradually replace the fleet that runs on fossil fuels with electric or hybrid vehicles on the urban public transport networks of Latin America.

The study analyses the current policy framework related to regulations or incentives that encourage the replacement and also includes a review of the implementation process and the results obtained up to this point. Furthermore, the report provides a risk analysis study along with the opportunities associated with this change in model, the necessary actions and the roadmap to be followed for the implementation of the new system.
