Indra to maintain Cairo Metro ticketing systems for five more years

The Egyptian Company for Metro Management & Operation (ECM), the company that runs the Cairo metro network, has awarded Indra the maintenance of the ticketing systems of lines 1 and 2 of Cairo Metro.

Indra to maintain Cairo Metro ticketing systems for five more years

(15/11/2019)

The contract, which amounts to more than 7 million euros, extends the support and maintenance Indra was already responsible for since the company implemented the access control and ticket sale systems that came into operation in 2013.

The contactless ticketing solution implemented by Indra centralizes and integrates all the operations and sales modules of Cairo Metro and allows greater control, access to information, flexibility and automation of processes, which significantly reduce fraud.

The control centre created by Indra allows for the integrated management of the two lines and is also prepared for the integration of line 3, which is currently being completed, and other possible new lines in the future.
