TMB hosts International Rail Quality Board meeting




The International Rail Quality Board (IRQB) held its meeting of managers at TMB’s Espacio Gaudí in Barcelona, with the aim of sharing the progress made by the different working groups and going over some aspects of management.

The Board, comprised of about twenty infrastructure companies, operators and rolling stock manufacturers, aims to develop voluntary certification and quality management systems based on the application of the quality management standard in the rail sector, known as IRIS.

IRQB members include manufacturers such as Alstom, Siemens, Ansaldo STS, Bombardier, CAF, Faiveley-Wabtec, Voith and Harting; operators like German company DB, French SNCF, Belgian SNCB, Swiss SBB, Russian NZ and Metro de Madrid; and the Association of the European Rail Industry, Unife.
