Talgo will supply eight conventional Intercity coach formations for Danish Railways (DSB), in what is the first order of a framework agreement that allows the possibility of including orders for both more single coaches and full formations.

Talgo to supply eight Intercity trains for Danish Railways

(20/02/2020)

This first order involves eight Intercity coach formations, each with a passenger capacity of over 440 seats, along with spare parts (fleet and maintenance) during 16 years. Units are expected to be delivered in 2023 and will be used in the international route connecting Denmark’s capital city, Copenhagen, with the port city of Hamburg, in Germany.

The new trains, which belong to Talgo 230 platform for conventional lines, will reach a commercial top speed of 200 km/h. They will feature wide coaches providing passengers with more interior room, as well as maximum accessibility throughout the train for people with reduced mobility. These trains are ready for cross-border services and fully aligned with the demanding technical rules enforced in Denmark and Germany, while also complying with the European-wide standard for interoperability.
