The goal of “4SecuRail” is to design a computer security incident response team to protect the EU-Rail’s cybersecurity, as well as a formal methods demonstrator to enhance its railway signalling systems.
The “4SecuRail” project began in December 2019 and was officially launched in Barcelona in January 2020. The consortium will work to create collaborative processes and tools intended to coordinate a joint response between all European Railways in the event of a cybersecurity attack. A formal methods demonstrator will also be developed to improve the interoperability of all signalling systems and to guarantee railway safety and efficiency.
Ardanuy Ingeniería has been put in charge of coordinating this initiative alongside the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, FIT, Hit Rail, Sirti, Tree Technology and the International Union of Railways (UIC). Hit Rail, specialized in technology applied to railways, together with the UIC and Tree Technology, will co-design and test a collaboration platform for the computer security incident response team.
