This contract has been awarded by the Swedish Transport Administration, Trafikverket, for an approximate amount of 80 million euros, and involves the construction of two new tracks of three kilometres in length on the western side of the current tracks; something that will increase the number of trains passing through this section each day from 450 to 650 trains.
In addition, a new station will be built at Klostergården with a 250-metre-long platform on each side and an underpass for pedestrian and bicycle traffic. With this new awarding the consortium will build the entire line between Lund and Arlöv (Malmö), the main connection between the Scandinavian Peninsula and the rest of Europe.
Since 2017, the OHL-NCC consortium has been in charge of the works to improve the 8-km line between Flackarp and Arlöv (Malmö). This project, which amounts to 215 million euros, includes the option to expand tracks and the construction of three new stations, nine overpasses and one tunnel, among other works.
