(11/06/2020)

The international public tender by Mexico’s National Fund for Tourism Promotion (Fonatur) was awarded to the consortium with the technical advice by the United Nations Office for Project Services, which backs up Fonatur to promote the best practices in contracting processes. The technical proposal obtained a total of 95.09 points, while the economic one was 10,193 million pesos (about 396 million euros).

Works on section 3 from Calkiní to Izamal started on May 25 applying a protocol for special sanitary measures to safeguard the safety and health of all workers on the site. This protocol was designed by Fonatur in coordination with the United Nations Office.
