The order of these metre-gauge streetcars includes units in seven and five sections. The vehicles are designed and manufactured at Stadler’s plant in Albuixech, Valencia. The total volume of the order without options is around 92 million euros. Around 23.4 million euros of this will come from the European Fund for Regional Development. An additional approximately 21 million euros are to come from the funds of the State of Thuringia. The new streetcars are to go into passenger service from 2023.

The 16 vehicles designed in seven sections, with a vehicle length of around 42 metres, offer space for 234 passengers, 75 of whom are seated. In this long version, there are five seats for wheelchair users in the three multifunctional areas. The eight vehicles designed as five-section streetcars, with a vehicle length of 32 metres, have space for 174 passengers with 46 seats. In the shorter version, there are two multifunctional areas with a total of four wheelchair spaces.

The streetcars are equipped with five and six doors on each side respectively, as well as passenger information systems, and they will be totally accessible. They are characterised by axle bogies that enable a comfortable ride even in winding routes, and a light car body structure made of high-strength stainless steel. Also, the panes of the passenger compartment are double-glazed.
