The Paso de los Toros Railway includes the construction and maintenance of 273 kilometres of railway line between the port of Montevideo and the city of Paso de los Toros. The project is part of the transport infrastructure programme that Uruguay is promoting to strengthen its logistics platform, complementing the railway with road haulage and the port system.

Works to be executed by Ineco are the result of an agreement signed in 2017 between the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda of Spain and the Ministry of Transport and Public Works of Uruguay.
