The bridge is part of the section designed by Idom between Kaunas and the border from Lithuania and Latvia. The company is also designing another six sections for the high-speed train that will cross the Baltic States.

Currently, the firm is carrying out the design and supervision during the construction of 393 kilometres, which makes Idom the main design firm working on Rail Baltica, the rail network that will connect Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland and, indirectly, Finland with the current European railway network.
