An agreement has therefore been reached to create joint teams to collaborate on the development of infrastructure and transport, within the framework of the agreements signed in early 2023 with the Kingdom of Morocco, which propose several fields of collaboration in all modes of transport, highlighting, for Spain, everything related to the railway and its infrastructures.
In addition, Spanish railway industry’s leadership has been underlined, as well as its disposition to share with Morocco its technical capacity to expand its interregional, suburban and high-speed railway network. Spanish companies have shown interest in participating in the execution, construction, maintenance, and operation of Morocco’s new high-speed rail lines, an area where they have solid experience.
Emphasis has also been put on bilateral relations for the development of port and road projects, and the strategic nature of the Fixed Link project between Morocco and Spain through the Strait of Gibraltar has also been highlighted. The aim is to finalise a date to hold the 44th meeting of the Mixed Spanish-Moroccan Committee of the project to continue working on its definition.
The Minister has announced that Ineco and its Moroccan counterpart, CID, are working on an alliance to collaborate on the development of projects and the internationalization process in Africa, offering their technical capacity and experience in different African countries that may need this help. Ineco and CID are finalising the signing of an agreement to collaborate on the development of projects related to railways, urban mobility, airports, and digitalisation.
