Acciona is awarded new contract for extension of Toronto Metro

The Government of the Province of Ontario has awarded Acciona and the Canadian firm Amico a contract to design and build a three-kilometre section of the Ontario Line subway in Toronto, Canada.

Acciona is awarded new contract for extension of Toronto Metro

(21/03/2024)

The section includes five above-ground stations and will enable travel from one end of the line to the other in less than 30 minutes, compared with the current 70 minutes using alternative transportation. It will also have connections with other metro and bus lines along the route.

On completion of all the sections that are currently under construction, the line will be 15.6 kilometres in length and have a total of 15 stations. This contract joins other projects awarded to Acciona, among which is the contract in consortium with the company Ghella and that consists in a 5.7-kilometre extension of the Millennium Line in Vancouver, which will add six stations.
