The Brunel Awards recognise excellence in design, engineering, and quality in the international railway sector. This edition, the project to modernise FGC's Series 112 units was awarded. Since 2021, Alstom has been developing the refurbishment of 22 FGC trains to extend their operational life by up to 15 additional years and enhance passenger experience and comfort.

The first renovated train entered commercial service on the Barcelona–Vallès line in March 2025, while the project continues with the remainder of the fleet. The second refurbished unit is scheduled to enter service in November.
