Metro de Madrid has entrusted Uromac with the manufacture of 24 units of auxiliary rolling stock. The contract covers the supply of 16 hybrid-electric, battery-powered draisines that can run on non-electrified or unpowered sections. In addition, Uromac will supply eight carriages and rail carriers. The acquisition of these new vehicles will enable the metro company to eliminate diesel and noise emissions, operate in a 100% sustainable manner, improve the working conditions for operators, and contribute to meeting the EU's 2030 climate targets in the railway sector.
