Avlo begins operation with four daily circulations per direction between Madrid and Barcelona and with tickets starting at €7 each way. The new Renfe service, whose daily circulations can be expanded throughout the year depending on the evolution of demand, has stops in all the cities of the Northeast Corridor: Madrid, Guadalajara, Calatayud, Zaragoza, Lleida, Tarragona, Barcelona, Girona and Figueres.
Avlo is Renfe’s high-speed service with the highest passenger capacity, with 438 seats per train. In addition, the vehicles are zero-emission trains that contribute to sustainable transport and which will circulate with 100% electricity from renewable sources.
Accessible to all
Renfe’s objective with this new service is to facilitate high-speed access to all segments of the population. Children under 14 years of age will have a basic rate of 5 Euros, provided that it is accompanied by the issuance of an adult ticket (with a maximum of two child tickets per adult). For large families there are also discounts (of 20% for those of general category and 50% for large families of special category).
The new Avlo trains start with the most demanding certifications in terms of sanitation, disinfection and cleaning, which constitutes a differential element of the first order in relation to any other collective transport.
