OHLA to modernize section from Brno-Prague railway line in Czech Republic



A joint venture including OHLA´s subsidiary in the Czech Republic, OHL ŽS, has been awarded a contract for the reconstruction of the double line of the Adamov-Blansko section, part of the corridor linking the cities of Brno and Prague in South Moravia.

Assigned by Správa železnic, the national rail infrastructure manager in the Czech Republic, the contract pursues several objectives including the elimination of speed drops, increasing the safety and reliability of operation, ensuring barrier-free access and guaranteeing interoperability parameters.

The project involves the construction of one stop in Adamov, three double track tunnels with lengths of 105 m, 326 m and 101 m, and two single track tunnels of 497 m and 557 m. It also includes a railway superstructure and substructure, platforms, bridges, culverts, tunnels, noise walls, roads, buildings for technological allocation, acoustic screens, traction lines and the stabilization of rock slopes. Moreover, the project also entails the modernization of security and communication systems.
