Peter Köhler, appointed new CEO of the Czech operator Leo Express




The Board of Directors of Leo Express has appointed Peter Köhler as the new CEO of the Czech company. This appointment is intended to advance the strategic position of Leo Express as an alternative leader in rail mobility services in Central Europe.

Peter Köhler, previously held the position of CEO of the company until the end of 2019, when he managed to grow the company internationally in open access and PSO passenger rail services in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Germany, achieving extraordinary growth in turnover and record net profits during his tenure. Peter has previously worked as a rail executive and investment banker in Austria, Germany and the UK and has supported several other start-ups in the transportation and other industrial sectors. He holds a degree in Physics and Economics.

Renfe

Renfe, which has been a shareholder of the Czech company since last December. Renfe states that this transaction, which is part of its internationalization process, constitutes a strategic business opportunity, since it allows it to be active in three more European countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland) and to have the resources and licenses to access the German market.
It also allows the company to bid for public service tenders in all these countries, taking advantage of the local implementation, experience, equipment and references that Leo Express already has.
