The two operators will study possible ways of collaboration and joint projects in order to contribute to the success of the 2030 Football World Cup. To this end, the companies will seek initiatives to facilitate mobility between both countries during this sporting event. Renfe and CP aim to optimise transport and offer sustainable alternatives for fans travelling between Spain and Portugal, two of the tournament’s venues.

Both operators have also analysed the current situation of rolling stock leasing contracts, possible cooperation in cross-border projects of various kinds and the status of the agreement between both companies to collaborate on tourist trains.
