The seven lines of the Santiago Metro and the Metrotren Alameda-Nos suburban train service have been renewed with a validator, designed and developed by Indra based on its Mova Collect line of solutions, which is able to read the usual contactless transport cards, bank cards, QR codes and mobile devices to accept payment. It also allows the recharging of transport cards using the validator itself.
The solution also improves the user interface thanks to a fully customizable seven-inch TFT screen and a speaker which can be used to provide information and warn passengers. The validator adapts electronically to any turnstile and can be installed throughout the current and future network, thus reducing the variety of existing solutions.
Indra will also deploy new ticket validators modelled after those installed in the bus network, which will offer an additional means of validation to reinforce passenger flow management in the event of a very high influx of passengers. These ticket validators support the reading of QR codes and bank cards.
