Comsa to participate in the extension of Green and Yellow lines of Lisbon Metro

(11/05/2023)

The awarding of the contract, which amounts to 70 million Euros, is in response to the tender for Lot 4 for the completion of the extension of the two metro lines, and it will be carried out consecutively to the development works of lots 1 and 2 for the construction of the Rato/Santos and Santos/Cais do Sodré sections, and lot 3, relating to the Campo-Grande viaducts.

The Comsa - Zagope consortium will build a new 1.9 km section between the Rato and Cais de Sodré stations -including track, catenary and systems-, two new stations (Estrela and Santos) and two new ventilation shafts. In addition, it will also carry out the adaptation at Cais de Sodré station, where a new vestibule will be built, and the shaft located next to Rato station.

The works contemplate the union of the Green and Yellow lines to form a circular line. Lisbon Metro, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, expects the circular line to enter service in 2024.
