The Somport Tunnel, a trans-Pyrenean axis included in the TEN-T Global Network, is one of the railway crossings between Spain and France. It is 7.8 km long, was built between 1908 and 1915 and was opened in 1928, until the international connection was closed in March 1970. The technical studies for its reopening are part of the European project to reopen the Zaragoza-Canfranc-Pau line to international traffic.
