This section, which will run between the city centre and the Corso Marx shopping district, will be 2.2 kilometres long and have two stations. The works join those currently been carried out by the same companies between Misterbianco and Paterno stations, a project involving an investment close to €532 million.

The contract also includes the potential execution of an additional 900-metre section from the Ardizzone tunnel to Paterno station, including a train depot. With this additional option, the project would span 11.5 kilometres and require an approximate investment of €656 million.
